Millennials grew up with their parents telling them — absolutely — that gender and racial equality was, in fact, a given. The reason so few Millennials make substantive arguments for the reasoning behind equality is because, in the world in which we were raised, those questions seemed answered and agreed upon. You’re not witnessing a lack of substance, you’re witnessing dismay.
As a 35 year old woman on the cusp of the Millennial generation, it’s only been in the last few years that that moral reality has come crashing down around me. I suspect that many more Millennials are now experiencing this dismay as they enter their late twenties and early thirties.
